We are heading to hospital tomorrow to meet our little man for the first time, and I finally got around to taking photos of the (almost) complete nursery today. All that still needs to be completed is the changing table – hubby has been working really hard, and made the cot from scratch, and just needs to assemble the changing table this weekend before I am discharged on Monday.
I have put the Winnie the Pooh paintings above the cot, and will be adding some black and white photos form our maternity and newborn sessions to the mix there too. I am rather impressed with the way that the cot turned out (it took a long time, but I think it was worth it), and it is adjustable so that as the little man grows, the cot will “grow” with him.
I am fortunate to have the space for a single bed in the nursery as well, which should make late night / early morning feeds a little more bearable (I’m not very good with cold, rainy nights, so having a duvet available will definitely help!). Our wonderful little “protector puppy” loves having the bed there too – it’s his favourite place to chill out and relax during the day. I hope that he will protect junior as well as he has protected me throughout my pregnancy!
Hubby also made the box shelves which will eventually have the changing table below, and friends of ours gave us the gorgeous tidy (matching our Winnie the Pooh theme!) which will definitely make changing easier (no hunting around for supplies with a wriggling baby on the table).
We were also given a beautiful sign for the door – I saw it and absolutely fell in love. It’s the closest thing to “whimsical” that I was allowed to incorporate in the room!
